Common Questions

What does FOB mean? +
FOB (Free On Board) means the supplier's price includes delivering the goods to the port and loading them onto the vessel. After that point — ocean freight, insurance, customs duty and local delivery — are the buyer's responsibility.
What is the difference between FOB and CIF? +
FOB covers the cost of goods plus delivery to the origin port. CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) includes ocean freight and insurance on top of FOB. The buyer still handles customs clearance, duty and inland transport at the destination.
How do I find the import duty for my product? +
Import duty depends on your country and the product's HS (Harmonised System) code. Check your country's customs tariff database or ask your customs broker. In the EU, use the TARIC database. In the US, use the HTS lookup tool.
