FAQ
Common Questions
What does CBM mean?
CBM stands for cubic metre — the standard unit for measuring shipment volume in international shipping. It is calculated as length × width × height.
How is CBM used in freight?
Shipping lines and freight forwarders use CBM to determine the volume of your shipment. For LCL (less than container load) shipments, you pay per CBM. For FCL (full container load), CBM tells you how much of the container you are using.
What is the difference between 20ft, 40ft and 40HC?
A standard 20ft container holds about 33 CBM. A 40ft holds about 67 CBM. A 40HC (high cube) holds about 76 CBM and is taller — commonly used for furniture and bulky items.
