Stone installation always generates wastage from cuts, breakage and layout patterns. This calculator shows how much extra to order so you do not run short mid-project. Choose a wastage percentage based on your layout complexity.
FAQ
Common Questions
How much extra stone should I order?
For standard straight layouts, 8-10% is typical. For herringbone, diagonal or complex patterns with many cuts, allow 12-15%. If the stone is fragile or the tiles are very small, go up to 15-20%.
Can leftover tiles be used later?
Leftover unopened tiles can sometimes be used for repairs or future projects. Keep a few extra tiles in storage. However, stone from different batches may vary slightly in colour, so it is best to order everything from the same production run.
