Rajasthan is India's handicraft heartland. The state produces an extraordinary diversity of handmade products, each with centuries of tradition behind it. For importers, understanding these categories is essential for finding the right products and suppliers.

Wood Handicrafts

Carved wooden items from Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Barmer — decorative boxes, frames, wall panels, sculptures, and furniture accessories. Sheesham and mango wood are most common. Quality varies enormously between artisan workshops.

Metal Crafts

Jaipur and Moradabad dominate metalwork. Brass lanterns, candle holders, sculptures, decorative plates, and figurines. Processes include casting, spinning, engraving, and hand-finishing. Each process produces different aesthetics and price points.

Stone Crafts

Many of the most attractive handicraft products combine materials — wood with metal, stone with brass, leather with fabric. These mixed-media products often command premium prices because of the skill required.
