Pre-Production Inspection: Why It Matters More Than You Think

Most importers focus on pre-shipment inspection — checking the finished product. But the most costly quality problems often originate before production even begins. Pre-production inspection is your chance to catch these issues early.

What Pre-Production Inspection Checks

• Raw materials: Is the wood properly dried? Is the stone the right grade? Is the fabric the correct weight and colour?

• Production setup: Are the correct machines being used? Is the tooling set up properly?

• Samples: Does the production sample match the approved sample?

• Production timeline: Is the factory actually ready to start, or are they waiting for materials?
